Defence tribunal bench set at Bangalore

Bangalore: Defence personnel based in Karnataka need not travel to Kochi for service related disputes as tribunal Circuit branch is started in Bangalore.

According to Ministry of Defence Circuit Bench of the Armed Forces Tribunal will hold two sittings a month in Bangalore.

Personnel from Karnataka would now be able to file their cases at the Circuit Bench, a move which will reduce the cost burden of frequently travelling to the Regional Bench at Kochi, an official said on Wednesday.

Kochi bench handle cases related to defence persons based in Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep. The Circuit Bench is at present holding its first session from June 2 to June 6. Future sittings would be notified in advance.
