It all started when Chetan Bhagat tweeted:

It called for a bunch of mixed reactions from all over the twitter, some were sad whileothers breathed a sigh of relief:

According to the reports, Chetan Bhagat said that “Whether it is to burn less fossil fuels or to reduce urban pollution, I think we should really encourage electric cars. It can revolutionise India. Electric cars would require charging stations instead of fuel pumps. We (India) don’t produce our own fossil fuels, we import most of them. But generating electricity is something that we are self-sufficient in.” He added “The R&D is reaching a point where in the next three to five years, we will have a good number of electric cars in India, provided the infrastructure is in place.”
