Six sentenced for life in murder case

Six persons, including four brothers, were sentenced for life by a court for murdering a man in the district nearly two years ago.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Hisar, Purushotam Dass yesterday awarded life imprisonment to Kuldeep, Dholia, Madan and Sunder (all brothers) and Himmat Singh and Shamsher, all residents of village Mangali after finding them guilty of murdering Nafe Singh over a dispute.

The convicts were also asked to pay a fine of Rs 51,000 each. The court also awarded one year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 under Section 148 (rioting) and one month imprisonment and fine of Rs 500 under section 341 (wrongfully confining any person) of IPC to them. All sentences will run concurrently.
