In a relief for bureaucrat Ashok Khemka, the Haryana government has dropped the charge-sheet against him, issued in the cancellation of a land deal mutation between Rober Vadra and DLF.
The previous Congress government in the state had filed the charge-sheet against him for ‘professional misconduct’ in the case.
Khemka was accused of misusing his powers by cancelling the land deal worth Rs 58 crore, and damaging the reputation of Vadra and real estate firm DLF. Vadra is the son-in-law of Congress president Sonia Gandhi. The bureaucrat was also accused of issuing wrong directions to deputy commissioner, and overstaying, despite being issued transfer orders.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had then come out in support of Khemka.
