Bengaluru: Rain has been playing spoilsport in the Test match between India and South Africa and even the 4th day got washed out thanks to showers.
In the second Test between India and South Africa, this is for the third straight day that play has been called off without a ball being bowled on day four here on Tuesday.
Hopes of seeing some action at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium were awakened as ground staff were seen working on the drenched outfield after losing the entire second and third day due to persistent rain.
Earlier on Day one, replying to South Africa’s first innings score of 214, Indian openers had put the hosts in a commanding 80-0 at stumps.
Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan will resume the innings on their respective unbeaten score 28 and 45 on the fifth day if the weather permits.
India are leading the four-match series 1-0 after defeating the tourists by 108 runs in Mohali Test match.
