3 dead, several injured as MLA son’s BMW rams into Auto in Jaipur

Three people were killed and several others injured including four police officers, when a speeding BMW car collided with an autorickshaw and a police van in Jaipur on Friday night. 

The incident took place around 2 at mid-night near St Xavier’s School in Jaipur. This incident came into light today.

Police said the car was allegedly being driven by Siddharth Maharia, son of Sikar MLA Nand Kishore Maharia.

 

Rajasthan’s lawmaker’s son Siddharth along with his cousin Jayant were going to their house in Jalupura in a BMW 520d Sedan. The speeding car first collided with an autorickshaw, killing three people on the spot and injuring one, before ramming into a PCR van of the Ashok Nagar police station.

 

Police has detained both of them. Despite repeated attempts, Sidharth’s father Nand Kishore Maharia could not be reached for comment.

 

Manish Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Manish Agarwal told media, “An FIR has been lodged in this regard and after we receive the medical reports, relevant sections of the IPC will be decided. Chances are that the case will be registered under section 304 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).”

 

Those who were injured had taken to SMS hospital. The condition of the injured are stable now, police added. Ashok Nagar station house officer Bala Ram said the bodies have been sent for post mortem.
