The researchers of University of Washington have developed a programme called Dreambit that allows to a person to imagine how he would look with different hairstyles. This technology can also assist in tracing missing people, as it shows what a missing child or person might look in different appearance, age, and in a different period of time.
“With missing children, people often dye their hair or change the style so age-progressing just their face is not enough. This is a first step in trying to imagine how a missing person’s appearance might change over time,” said Kemelmacher- Shlizerman from University of Washington.
The software is a personalized image search engine, which is user friendly. To receive your desired results, you will have to upload a photograph and give some inputs to the system such as –“Brown Hair,””Russia”- and system will generate a photo accordingly. “The software analyse the input photo and searches for a subset of internet photographs that fall into the desired category but also match the original photo’s face shape, pose and expression” reported PTI.
