A video of the incident was recorded by an onlooker. In the video, Mr. Rao can be seen taking off at the Codissia grounds, and about 25 seconds later, struggling to hold on to the rope, as his harness came loose. The crowds, realising that something was wrong, rushed to the spot below Malleshwara, hoping to possibly catch him. But sadly, some time later, Mr. Rao fell to straight to the ground, suffering extensive injuries.
At the hospital, he was declared brought dead, and one of the doctors said that he had suffered fractures on his skull, spine, hip, knee, and ribs.
Mallesdhwara’s wife, Padmasri, and his relatives are mourning their inconsolable loss. Mr. Rao’s son Suryateja (25) works in Bengaluru, and his daughter, Manasa, is in Hyderabad.

A police officer said, “We are investigating. It appears the safety harness was either not latched to the glider or it was latched but snapped later.” said a police officer. Reports emerging now claim that the organizers of the Coimbatore Medical College fest had not taken permission for conducting parasailing from the police.
Also, the operator hired for the activity,a man called Glider Babu, is now missing.
