Happy Internet Day! 23 August 2017 marks 25 years of Internet to the mankind.
Sir Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web and was Founding Director of the World Wide Web Foundation, one of Time Magazine’s ‘100 Most Important people of the 20th century. Sir Tim Berners-Lee is a scientist and academic whose visionary and innovative work has transformed almost every aspect of our lives.
Having invented the Web in 1989 while working at CERN and subsequently working to ensure it was made freely available to all, Berners Lee is now dedicated to enhancing and protecting the Web’s future.
The origin of the internet has taken way back in 1962. Apart from all the technical journey, It was also in 1972 that the initial “hot” application, electronic mail, was introduced. In March Ray Tomlinson at BBN wrote the basic email message send and read software, motivated by the need of the ARPANET developers for an easy coordination mechanism.
In July, Roberts expanded its utility by writing the first email utility program to list, selectively read, file, forward, and respond to messages. From there email took off as the largest network application for over a decade. This was a harbinger of the kind of activity we see on the World Wide Web today, namely, the enormous growth of all kinds of “people-to-people” traffic, as listed by internetsociety.org.
The internet is the biggest sharing information platform because information comes at your fingertips.
The internet Age= The information Age … God bless the inventor of this platform
