P.Kumaran named new Indian Ambassador to Qatar

P Kumaran will be the new Indian Ambassador to Qatar. Kumaran, who is currently the joint secretary in the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), will take up his assignment in Qatar shortly.

He is a 1992 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service. He was presently working as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs as JS CPV division.

Kumaran replaces Sanjeev Arora who is being posted to Lebanon as Indian Ambassador. Kumaran is known to be a quiet performer and will be an asset to deliver PM’s economic agenda with Qatar.
