Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in the midst of taking a final decision on appointing key officials of the foreign policy and security establishments. The Foreign secretary of India Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will get an extension for another two years, sources told NewsMobile.

The head of two Security Agencies IB and RAW is to be announced soon. Rajiv Jain is likely to head Intelligence Bureau. Rajiv Jain is a 1980 Jharkhand Cadre officer of the Indian Police Service and known to be a doer and is an old IB hand. The Research and Analysis Wing Chief, Rajinder Khanna is due to retire in end of this month. The Strong recommendation has been made for the appointment of Anil Kumar Dhaswana an IPS from Madhya Pradesh Cadre. Anil Dhaswana was in the limelight because of his involvement and key role in Surgical Strikes against Pakistan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Mr. Ajit Doval who is the National Security Advisor have taken a final decision and these names have been cleared, sources added.
The names will be announced formally soon by the government.
