German auto giant, Mercedes-Benz has launched its 13th car of the year on Indian roads, the Mercedes-AMG C43 4Matic with a price tag of whooping ₹74.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Compared to C63’s 4.0-litre V8 engine, the C43 uses a smaller 3.0-litre twin turbo V6 petrol unit that churns out 370 bhp of power and generates 520 Nm of peak torque available all the way from 2000 rpm to 4200 rpm. The engine comes mated to 9-speed automatic gearbox sending power to all the wheels through Merc’s 4MATIC all wheel drive system. It does the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4.7 seconds before hitting the electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

On the design perspective, it’s more of a standard C-Class wearing the AMG kit that includes 18″ 5-spoke alloy wheels, diamond grille at front, blackened outside mirrors, spoiler lip on the boot and logo projection. Cabin also tries to remind you that it’s an AMG with some sporty elements like the red seat belts, sports steering wheel, red stitching on the seats and illuminated door sill panels with ‘AMG’ lettering.
