Varanasi: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man inside a bathroom of the district hospital, police said today.
The incident occurred on the premises of Deen Dayal Upadhyay district hospital on Monday where the accused had lured the victim and her 50-year-old aunt, both native of Jaunpur district, on pretext of providing a job to the older woman’s son at the hospital.

He allegedly told the woman that her son’s job was fixed and they need to come along with him to get the offer letter at the hospital, they said.
The two women came accompanied the accused to the hospital where he asked the aunt to wait in the hall and took her niece inside the bathroom and allegedly raped her.
He had also allegedly asked the aunt to take off her bangles, necklace and rings and hand over to him before taking the niece to the bathroom, they said.

He fled after committing the crime. Senior police officials along with the crime branch team and Cantt police reached the hospital after receiving information about the crime, they added.
Police are checking the CCTV footage and have sealed the bathroom where the alleged crime occurred, they said.
An FIR has been registered in the case and the woman has been sent for medical examination, they said, adding, investigations are underway.
