The recent sexual assault of a Malayalam actress has left people shocked. The incident has also triggered actors and actresses in the south to open up about their own traumatizing experiences.
Yet again , R Sarathkumar’s daughter Varalaxmi Sarathkumar the Indian film actress who has appeared in Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam films has spoken about an incident where she was sexually harassed by a programming head during an official meeting.
The actress took to Twitter to share her alarming story which shows the risk and threat that women in the industry deal with. The thirty-one-year-old actress exposed the man who sexually harassed her revealing that the programming head of a leading TV channel made unwanted leads to her during an official meeting. When she understood his intentions, she immediately asked him to get out. She spoke about how the movie industry had normalised inappropriate sexual advances as being a common thing and how it affects actresses in the industry.

The actress shared her letter with the caption, “Needs to be said..!!” Without revealing the name of the person or the channel, the actress claimed that after much deliberation she decided to open up on the episode as she feels the need to speak on behalf of all the girls who are not speaking out due to fear.
Varu Sarathkumar pointed out how it is important to start lecturing men on their behaviour instead of moral policing women on their clothes. The hard-hitting letter has some very valid points backed by blunt truths.
