Manchester United missed the chance to move into the top four as they were held on a draw by the 10-man AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
Jose Mourinho’s team dominated from the start and took the lead when Marcos Rojo deflected in Antonio Valencia’s shot on 23 minutes.
AFC Bournemouth were level after 40 minutes when Marc Pugh was brought down in the penalty area and Joshua King converted from the spot against his former team.
The Cherries’ hopes of a result were hit when Andrew Surman received a second yellow card just before half-time.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a chance to win it for United in the 71st minute with a penalty kick but Artur Boruc saved his thunderous shot.

AFC Bournemouth’s first point at Old Trafford keeps them 14th on 27 points, while Man United moved on 49 points, one short of Arsenal(50).
