Second POPSK inaugurated at Hisar

Date:

Haryana’s second Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, a joint venture of the Ministry of External Affairs and Department of Post, was inaugurated here today.

Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MP Dushyant Chautala inaugurated the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra (POPSK) at local head post office here.

The first POPSK was inaugurated in Karnal on March 25 by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

“Residents of Sirsa and Bhiwani districts would now avail of the facility at Hisar centre. They will not have to go to Ambala and for passport related work,” Chautala said.

Regional Passport Officer, Munish Kapoor said those willing to get their passport made in Hisar will have to register their name online daily between 10am to 4pm.

Fifty people will be registered in one day in Hisar office, he said.

He said that the central government has decided to scale up this programme by opening 56 such facilities across the country.
