‘Women have no objections with my film,’ says Raveena Tandon on ‘Maatr’ ban row

Date:

Amid a tussle over the release of upcoming film ‘Maatr’ being allegedly banned by Central Board of Film Certification, Raveena Tandon hit back at the board saying women do not have any problem with her film.

When asked about the movie being sent to the revising committee, the 42-year-old-actress said:

“What I have heard from the media is that a group of people, which included women too, did not have any sort of issue with the film, which is specifically made for women. So I see no rise for objection. So we all are hoping for the best.”

“I have heard that CBFC believes in a movie which gives a strong message. ‘Maatr’ has a strong message on crime against women. But it seems that even their hands are tied,” she added.

For the unversed, reports are doing the rounds that ‘Maatr’ has been banned by the CBFC and the reason behind this alleged ban was the film’s violent rape scenes.

Earlier, CBFC’s CEO Anurag Shrivastava denied the reports of ban on the film and said that the examination committee is still in process and the result will be conveyed in a day or two.

Ashtar Sayed directed ‘Maatr’ is an upcoming Indian revenge thriller, written by Michael Pellico and slated to release it on April 21.
