Poll of polls: Exit poll shows big win for BJP, AAP wiped out

Date:

The exit polls strongly suggest Bhartiya Janta Party  is most likely to sweep the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections.
According to ABP News C-Voter survey, the party can win as many seats as 218 seats out of total 272. The survey also shows that BJP is expected to win 52% of the vote which indicates that general election of 2014 is going to repeat for BJP. The poll of polls after analysing the exit polls of India Today, ABP News and Times Now shows that BJP will win 207 seats.

Aam Aadmi Party, however, seems to be heading towards a big debacle whose voting percentage seems to go down from 55% in last assembly election to just around 20%. The poll of polls gives only 26 seats to the party. Congress, on the other hand, does not seems to recover from its misery. The poll of all polls gave the oldest party just 21 seats with a voting percentage being less than 20%.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kejriwal alleged reports of EVM tampering by tweeting, “Reports from all over Delhi of EVM malfunction, people with voter slips not allowed to vote. What is SEC doing?” However, Kejriwal’s charges received a befitting reply from the Election Commission, which labelled his allegation as “foolproof” and added that they have provided Generation- 1 EVM for the polls.
