Peugeot starts testing cars in India

The PSA Group after its tie-up with CK Birla group has started testing its brand Peugeot’s model the 3008 and the 2008 crossovers and hatchbacks in India.

In 2012 Peugeot unveiled hatchback 208 on PSA PF1 platform. However, new generation Peugeot in India will be based on new smaller CMP platform. Peugeot 208 is currently available in Petrol and Diesel engine ranging from 1.0 to 1.6 liter.

Peugeot also unveiled crossover 2008 which was also based on PSA PF1 platform with Petrol and diesel engine ranging from 1.2 to 1.6-liter engine.

The newest of the lot is Peugeot 3008 which also was unveiled last year and also won the European Car of The year award 2017. The 3008’s petrol and diesel engine vary from 1.2litre to 2.0litre, however, its misses four wheel drive.

While both the models 208 and 2008 is older models in the world market, 3008 is most likely to be launched in India next year. No SAARC nations have Peugeot plant so India could be also a hotspot for the French car maker to manage exports from India.
