Date:

According to reports, this small village named Dronagiri, in Uttarakhand, is entirely comprised of Hindus. However, all the 65 families in the village bury their dead so that the environment does not get affected along with the trees that grow in the area, at 12000 feet. The people of this village are more concerned about the Himalayan Birch (also called the Bhojpatra tree) leaves of which were used as paper for writing.

The Pradhan of the village Dronagiri, Deepa Rawat, said to the reports. For household needs and firewood, we simply collect the stems of those trees that have fallen naturally or have rotted over time.’’ The village is incredibly sensitive to ecological concerns.
