The makers of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ are facing legal trouble as the director Praveen Vyas has put copyright allegations on the film last week. He claimed that the upcoming film has some similarity with his documentary ‘Manini’, which also won the third prize at last year’s International Film Festival of India in Goa.
Prernaa Arora co-producer of the film rubbishes all the allegations and termed the allegations as “baseless and untrue”, stating that the script of the film belonged to the writers since 2013. Producer and co-founder of Friday Film Works, Shital Bhatia also denies all the allegations, they also said that it was “ridiculous, frustrating and insulting” to say that they have “copied someone’s work”.
According to the reports, the makers are also threatening Vyas to file a defamation case against him. ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will hit the screens on August 11.
