Manchester City put behind their disappointment of the last match of 2017, which ended their record winning streak, to beat Watford 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League clash.
Playing without injured Gabriel Jesus, City made a blistering start to the game. Raheem Sterling opened the scoring after just 38 seconds. This was his 14th goal of the season and quickest this season. Christian Kabasele then scored cleared a Kevin De Bruyne’s cross into his own net in the 13th minute as City went into break 2-0.
Goals didn’t stop even after the change of sides as Sergio Aguero scored his 13th goal of the season after goal keeper Heurelho Gomes spilled KBD’s cross in the 63rd minute. Andre Gary got a late consolation goal for Watford as City won 3-1.
City dominated the possession with 76.7% and had a total of 17 shots on the goal, while Watford had just 7.
The win took City 15 points clear of Manchester United at the top.
