Andhra CM launches e-Pragati platform

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday launched the e-Pragati CORE platform, which will be a common portal for all citizen services online.

As envisioned by the Chief Minister, a single source of truth and one portal to monitor everything, from insights to action, will be enabled by this platform.

The Chief Minister mentioned, “This is a great way of reviewing our shortfalls and achievements. This meeting gives us a clear idea of strategies regarding communication, and convergence.”

He further stressed on the importance of the conference and said, “This is the best way to review GSDP and other key performance indicators.”

Chief Minister Naidu mentioned that the state has been growing steadily over the years and underlined the fact that the growth rate was 8.5 percent during financial year 2014-15; 10.95 percent during the financial year and 11.6 percent during 2016-17 financial year.

He added that the first half of the current 2017-18 financial year has shown a growth of 11.37 percent as compared to the national growth rate of 5.8 percent.

Regarding the necessity of improving the contribution of agricultural sector to GSDP, he mentioned that the state has been following and successfully implementing strategies like water management and conservation for agriculture.

He also expressed his satisfaction on the developments in the agricultural sector and declared that the state went for organic and zero budget farming leading to low use of pesticides and more productivity.

He said, “The agricultural sector’s growth rate in the first half of the fiscal year is 25.6 percent. However, for better GSDP, we must also focus of industrialization and uplifting service sector.”

Adding, “There are 40 sectors with direct contribution for GSDP and we must increase focus on each of them.”

Speaking of the major goals for the Government, he said, “Right now we are cultivating in 41 lakh acres and we are aiming to make it 1 crore acres of agricultural land. Agriculture has registered a growth of 18.6 percent and however we must aim for 25-30 percent.”

The Chief Minister released a calendar on the theme, energy-conservation and concluded his address, saying that this conference must be utilized as an efficient platform for exchange of ideas and also mentioned that all possible support will be given to the collectors.
