Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, who turned 30 on Tuesday, received the most special birthday gift from her cricketer-husband Virat Kohli this year. Anushka said Virat ensured she had the ‘best birthday’ by recording Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) victory over Mumbai Indians (MI) in Bengaluru in the on-going Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018.
RCB, which was largely let down by its bowlers in the eleventh edition of the IPL so far, put up a fine display of bowling that guided them to a 14-run win against MI at their home ground in M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, which also marked Anushka’s 30th birthday. With this win, RCB have earned two important points that will keep their hopes of qualifying for the play-offs alive. At the time of writing this report, RCB stood at fifth place with 6 points, having won 3 of their 8 matches, while Mumbai Indians languished at the seventh spot with 4 points, by managing only 2 wins of their 8 matches.
While speaking at the post-match presentation, a visibly relieved Virat Kohli did not miss the opportunity to thank his wife and actress Anushka Sharma, who was present at the stadium cheering for him and his team.
“My wife is here and it’s her birthday. This was a little gift for her. It was very important to achieve these two points in front of her,” said Virat Kohli after the victory.

As soon as the RCB vs MI match ended, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli started their celebrations in all glory. In a late-night Instagram post, Anushka Sharma thanked Virat Kohli for making her birthday ‘so special’. She posted a wonderful picture of the couple and an assortment of birthday cakes, candles and flowers could be seen in the room. Anushka’s romantic picture with Virat was accompanied with a heartfelt message that read:
“Best birthday with the bestest, kindest, bravest man in the world . Love you for making it so special my love ❤ !”
