Acid attack victim’s kin stage protest at Mulayam’s house

New Delhi, Sep 13 (PTI) The parents and relatives of anacid attack victim from Mathura who died at a Delhi Hospitalstaged a protest outside Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam SinghYadav’s residence in New Delhi today. Tayabba, an 18-year-old girl, was undergoing treatment atRML Hospital for the last two months. A 22-year-old-man Irshadhad allegedly thrown acid on her in July after she rejectedhim and her family got her engaged to another man. The girl, who belonged to Mathura, was undergoingtreatment in Agra after which she was referred to RML Hospitalin Delhi. Irshad was arrested after the attack but Tayabba’sfamily members alleged that Irshad was accompanied by hismother, sister and an aunt when he threw acid on her. Her family and relatives staged a protest outside Yadav’shouse on Ashoka Road demanding the arrest of Irshad’s familymembers who were allegedly involved and financial aid for thepoor family of the victim, said Narender Malik, of theNavyuvak Sabha, who was part of the protest. Tayabba’s father hasn’t been keeping well and her sisterand mother make anklets, said Malik. Around 15-20 protesters were detained around 1 pm andtaken to Parliament Street police station where they were letoff in the evening, police said. PTI SLBKUN
