Betting Case: ED Likely To Summon Several Bollywood Celebs

Several Bollywood actors and singers are under the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) scanner. As per several media reports ED is likely to summon these high profile celebrities of Bollywood in connection with the ongoing probe into the Mahadev online betting case.

According to an exclusive report by India Today, several Bollywood actors and singers attended the wedding of Sourabh Chandrakar who is the promoter of Mahadev Book app, in UAE, back in February this year.

The list of Bollywood celebrities include: Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Neha Kakkar, Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, Vishal Dadlani, Elli AvrRam, Bharti Singh, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Krushna Abhishek and Sukhwinder Singh.

The ED in coordination with the police department of different states is currently probing the Mahadev Book App. The app is basically an online betting platform.

As per the sources quoted in a media report, ED gathered a digital evidence according to which Rs 112 crore was delivered via hawala to an event management company, while payment for hotel bookings, costing Rs 42 crore was made in cash.

The agency also got his hand on a video which is reportedly of Sourabh Chandrakar’s wedding. Several Bollywood celebrities can be seen in the video.

According to sources quoted in the India today report, ‘probe into the app’s success party, organised by Chandrakar and the second promoter, Ravi Uppal, held last year in September, was also underway. The success party was also attended by several Bollywood actors and singers, who are now under the ED’s scanner.

Sources said that the Bollywood bigwigs received cash payments through hawala from event management firms, for both the events.
