Donald Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump passed away on Friday from blunt force injuries to her torso sustained in an unintended fall, according to New York City’s chief medical examiner.
The former president confirmed that Ivana Trump died a day prior at her Manhattan home at 73, but provided no information about the source or way of her death. A representative for the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed on Friday that Ivana Trump probably fell and was discovered at the bottom of her home’s stairways.
Falls are the leading cause of injury-related death in people 65 and older, according to US health authorities. As per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 64 out of every 100,000 senior citizens die as a result of an unintended fall.
Ivana Trump was the mother of Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was a skier, ski patroller, and model before getting married to Donald Trump, a real estate developer, in 1977.
All across the 1980s, she worked with Trump to manage casinos and hotels, assisting him in becoming a Manhattan and global public figure.
Donald Trump’s marriage was the turning point for their divorce in 1992. He eventually married and divorced Marla Maples, with who together he had daughter Tiffany, and is now married to his third wife, Melania Knauss Trump, the mother of his son Barron and first lady from 2017 to 2021.
Ivana Trump even said she backed her ex-presidential husband’s campaign, but she wished this whole point to be over with after he lost to Joe Biden and tried desperately to invalidate the result, such as by keeping his promises to fight like hell.
She stated that her children “enjoyed being with Donald and running the election and seeing what would happen,” but she hoped that one day they would be able to survive their ordinary lives.
On Thursday afternoon, emergency personnel responding to a call from Ivana Trump’s Eastside residence observed her unresponsive.
Police reported that they declared her dead on the floor and found no evidence of criminal activity.
Trump, Donald Jr., and Ivanka have been scheduled to be interrogated Friday as part of a civil inquiry into their business dealings in New York.
