Belgium : After the shameful World Cup defeat, Brazil has something to celebrate. ID&T, the promoters of the huge international EDM event, made the announcement that it would bring Tomorrowland to Sao Paulo during May of 2015.
The announcement comes on the third day of Tomorrowland’s 10th anniversary celebrations in Boom, Belgium, which is roaring to close with David Guetta, Steve Aoki and 3 Are Legend (the combination of Aoki, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike) on the main stage.
The lucky people who were able to claim tickets have already been wowed all weekend by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Skrillex, Hardwell and Tiesto. The celebrations will continue next weekend, when the festival returns for its second run. Right now, over 100,000 FOMO-sufferers (Fear of Missing Out) are watching the live stream.
Rumours of Tomorrowland in Brazil started swirling following reports from Brazilian entertainment site Omelete and radio station Jovem Pan, who then removed the news from their site.
However, the expansion isn’t exactly a surprise to many as back in February ID&T organizers shared their plan to have a Tomorrowland on “every continent,†and were eyeing the South American country at the time of the interview.
Meanwhile, David Guetta actually confirmed the news of the Brazil expansion during his Sunday set.â€So I have a great, super exclusive, crazy amazing announcement to do,†Guetta told the crowd. “I want to say to all my people in Brazil. Tomorrowland is coming to you!â€
Tomorrowland Brasil requires fans to pre-register before buying tickets. Pre-registration runs from today until Sept 5 with sales to the public beginning Sept 6 on the event’s website.
Tomorrowland is a large electronic music festival held in Belgium. It used to be organized as a joint venture by the original founders together with ID&T. The festival has been running since 2005. It has since become one of the most notable global music festivals of the world. Over 400,000 tickets have been sold out to Tomorrowland 2014.
