Ever since India established diplomatic relations with Israel 25 years ago, no Indian Prime Minister has ever visited the Israeli state. PM Modi is the first PM to make a visit to Israel this July. No doubt then, it is being seen as a historic occasion that is likely to herald a new era of cooperation and bilateral trade between the two nations.
India is flexing its muscles on an international level and is considered one of the major world players. Stronger diplomatic relations with Israel will only mean more benefit to both the countries. India, in fact, will be signing a major defense deal with Israel. We are supposed to be purchasing soon anti-tank missiles and naval air defense system from Israel. India will now have to show some diplomatic prowess by balancing conflicting interests with Israel. Ties with the country are otherwise scale new heights.
