Kejriwal rewards power defaulters

Date:

New Delhi: Taking a dig at the constant peeping flak on his dreamy promises made during poll campaigns, the Aam Aadmi Party government on Wednesday cleared a proposal which provides 50% rebate and waives penalty dues on electricity bills for consumers who were part of Kejriwal’s ‘Bijli-Paani Andolan’ last year.

The proposal was cleared at a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister.

According to a government spokesperson, around 24,000 such power consumers who will get the subsidy have been identified. It will cost the government Rs 6 cr to provide relief to the citizens.
