Ivanovic topples Jaksic in WTA Monterrey Open final

Ana Ivanovic defeated Jovana Jaksic in straight sets in an all-Serbian final of the WTA Tour’s Monterrey Open.

The second-seeded Ivanovic on Sunday rolled over the unseeded Jaksic 6-2, 6-1 in just over an hour on the hardcourts to capture her 13th singles title and second of the season.

Ivanovic, who earned $110,000 with the win, fired four aces and saved five-of-seven break points.

She beat Danish star Caroline Wozniacki in the semi-finals to reach the championship match.

The 20-year-old Jaksic was searching for her first WTA Tour singles crown.

Jaksic finished with no aces, three double faults and saved four-of-10 break points.
