I am married admits NaMo

Date:

Vadodara: In an affidavit filed before the Election Commission, BJP’s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi declared himself as a married man, revealing his wife’s name as Jashodaben.

Modi for the first time stated he is married in the affidavit submitted along with his nomination papers, on Wednesday, for Vadodara Lok Sabha seat. So far, Modi used to leave the column of spouse as blank.

Controversy has erupted with this declaration as previously Modi stated his singlehood. Congress’s Digvijaya Singh tweeted: # Modi accepts his Marital Status. Can Women of this Country trust a Man who stalks a woman, deprives his wife of her right? Vote against Modi”.

Earlier, Congress had said that Modi should come clean on his marital status while filing nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections.

The Vadodara LS seat which has been chosen by Modi from 26 constituencies of Gujarat is considered to be one of the safest seat. Modi is also contesting election from Varanasi where he is challenging Aam Aadmi Party candidate Arvind Kejriwal and Congress’ local MLA Ajay Rai.
