Extreme use of cellphones may increase brain cancer risk

Date:

Johannesburg: A new study has revealed that people who use phones excessively are highly prone to brain cancer. The findings show that people who used cellphones for more than 15 hours each month over five years on an average presented high risk of developing glioma and meningioma tumours in comparison with people who used their phone rarely.

However, the study also recognized that it is hard to observe the effects of cell phones due to constant advancement in the field of technology. The study appeared in the British journal Occupational and Environmental Medicine.
