  • A YouTube video claims to have captured a UFO flying above London’s cloud line. The astonishing two-minute clip shows a dark-coloured disc with lights on either side seen from an aircraft flying in the skies above London. According to the video, the incredible event occurred on the morning of May 25. The video has received more than 92,000 views since it was first uploaded on the website and it is getting mixed reviews by the audience.

 

  • Astronomers have said that the planets Kepler-56b and Kepler-56c are going to be swallowed by their star in a short time by astronomical standards. Their end will come in 130 million and 155 million years, respectively. Lead author Gongjie Li of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA), said as far as they know, this is the first time two known exoplanets in a single system have a predicted “time of death.” The Kepler-56 system provides a glimpse into the future of our solar system. In about five billion years our Sun will become a red giant star, swelling to immense proportions and engulfing Mercury and Venus.

 

  • Space agency NASA has captured rare footage of eruption of solar material surging off the Sun, known as a coronal mass ejection, lets out huge clouds of superheated particles from the sun’s corona – that’s the outermost and hottest layer. They can reach speeds of more than a million miles per hour.

 

  • A solar-powered plane, that will try to fly around the world next year, has made its first test flight. Solar Impulse 2 lifted off from Switzerland early this morning and returned two hours later. The carbon-fibre aircraft has a huge wingspan of 72m – that’s wider than a Boeing 747 jet – but it weighs about the same as a large car. The plane is a larger, improved version of the aircraft that flew across America last year.

 

  • India suffered last-minute setback as they were beaten by England 2-1 in the Robobank Hockey World Cup. Simon Mantell converted a penalty corner into a goal in the 69th minute to help England register a stunning victory over the Indian team. Earlier, in the first half, England took an early lead in the match after Mark Gleghorne scored in the 26th minute. Afterwards, Dharamveer Singh helped India level the scores in the 30th minute.
