Amit is Shah of BJP

Date:

New Delhi: BJP has confirmed the appointment of Amit Shah as the chief of the party on Saturday. Top BJP leaders at the meet will also adopt a political resolution to focus on the political and economic issues.

The first meeting after BJP’s victory in the Lok Sabha polls will spotlight initiatives taken by the BJP-led NDA government and its roadmap ahead and conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address.

Shah took over as BJP chief on July 9 after Rajnath Singh resigned from the post soon after joining the Narendra Modi cabinet.

Though BJP’s parliamentary board, the highest decision- making forum of the party, approved the appointment of Amit Shah, the move had to be ratified by the party’s national council, as per the party’s constitution.

Shah is credited with scripting BJP’s stunning victory in key state of Uttar Pradesh in Lok Sabha elections that helped BJP get an absolute majority of its own and was rewarded with party chief’s post.
