After Delhi Modi pitches for Haryana Sarkar

Date:

Gurgaon: Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi on Tuesday wooed the voters of the poll-bound Haryana. Striking an emotion chord, Modi said, “I know Haryana as much as I know Gujarat.” He was in the state to lay the foundation stone for widening of a road. “Haryana is the state where people give importance to the infrastructural development,” said the Prime Minister.

Modi said, “Corruption is more serious disease than cancer and will take tough steps to eradicate it.” Some Central schemes that had to be completed have not. I assure that we will try to ensure they are completed, added the PM

Giving the perfect start to BJP’s campaign trail, Modi said people of Haryana have proved that they have it in them to develop the nation. He also hit back at the Bhupinder Hooda government saying the government has been unable to curb corruption in the state. Mera Kya’ and ‘Mujhe Kya’ have ruined us, we need a corruption-free India, said Modi.

Modi’s visit to Haryana comes within a week of Amit Shah’s grand rally which witnessed Congressmen beelining for the saffron ticket.

It gained even more importance with the fact that Modi is not new to the state. He had been in charge of Haryana affairs as party General-Secretary and had strong ties with some state leaders, who are now looking to him for their future.

He attended an event to inaugurate the four-laning of the Kaithal-Rajasthan border section of National Highway 52/65.

BJP’s alliance partner is keenly watching the developments as the future of the alliance is not certain. HJC chief Kuldeep Bishnoi, who has been left out of the list of invitees, said he would see to it that his party has a say in the future of the alliance as he has been constantly ignored by BJP. Bishnoi was not called to both the Shah rallies. The BJP president remained quiet on the alliance at Jind while at Mahendergarth he said alliance or no alliance, BJP would contest all 90 seats.

BJP is hopeful that Modi’s visit will further boost the already buoyed party. The party won seven out of eight Lok Sabha seats it had contested in the state. It seems likely that BJP will snap ties with HJC.
