Patna: At least 32 persons died and 15 others were injured after a stampede broke out near the Gandhi Maidan in Patna during Dussehra celebrations, on Friday.
Reports claim most of the victims were women and children.
The stampede happened at a narrow road outside the Gandhi Maidan as people were returning from Gandhi Maidan.
Some people fainted and were rushed to the Patna Medical College Hospital.
The principal secretary to the Bihar chief minister has ordered a probe into the incident.
The situation at the ground is under control, officials said.
