Hyderabad:Â Two persons were arrested on Monday in the alleged gangrape of a student of English and Foreign Language University in Hyderabad. One of the accused is a student in the University while other is the former student.
Nitin the Journalism student and Rajsimha the former student were arrested, said Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kachiguda Division) S Sudhakar.
“The alleged incident occurred on the night of October 31 and the girl, who was known to the accused, was apparently drugged and then sexually assaulted at a room on the university premises,” the ACP said.
Osmania University police have registered a complaint and is probing the case.
Based on the victim’s complaint, the police have registered a case under Section 376 (g) and 341 for wrongful restraint of the IPC.
The girl has been sent for medical examination.
