Mumbai: After minting $15 million worldwide, choreographer- turned-Director Farah Khan’s Happy New Year has got another big reason to be happy. The film has made it the Oscars library now. Library of the Academy of Motion pictures Arts and Sciences has officially selected the screenplay for its permanent Core Collection.
The filmmaker took to social networking website Twitter to share her joy and delight over the news and thanked her co-writers for penning the scrpit. “1 more reason 2 celebrate!! #HNY script goes to the Oscar library!! Bigg kiss to my co writers @mayurpuri n Althea k,” she tweeted Sunday.
Following this honour, the Oscar library will add the screenplay which is accessible to students, filmmakers, writers, actors and others from the field of cinema, for the purpose of research.
Shah Rukh’s earlier films like ‘Devdas’ and ‘Chak De! India’ were also selected for Oscar Library.Â
HNY – starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bacchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah – still running strong at the Box Office.
