Congress releases NaMo U-turn Nama

Date:

New Delhi: The second week of the winter session of Parliament is expected to remain stormy as Congress cornered the Narendra Modi government by bringing out a booklet on the U-turns taken by BJP since it came to power.

The booklet, released on Monday, narrates the promises made by BJP during the Lok Sabha elections and inaction by the Modi government over the same issues. Senior Congress leader Ajay Maken raised the issue of black money, Chinese troops incursion, ceasefire violations by Pakistan on Twitter as some of the issues which are likely to “embarrass” the government in Parliament.

The 33-page booklet highlights over two dozen ‘U-turns’ by the NDA government and issues like cash subsidy and different bills like FDI in insurance and GST among others, which were UPA proposals, would be included. BJP’s stand on CAG report and rape cases would also be included.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress will continue to up its ante against the Modi government over the issue of black money on the floor of the House. Last week, TMC raised the issue by holding black umbrellas and wearing black shawls while protesting outside Parliament.

As the Modi government completes its six months in power, questions are being raised by opposition parties on the government’s plan to bring back black money.

TMC leader Sukhendu Sekhar had said, “The Modi government promised to bring back black money in 100 days. Almost 200 days are over, they must give an answer.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised to bring back black money in 100 days and every citizen to get Rs 15 lakh each from it.

After BJP President Amit Shah accused West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC chief Mamata Banerjee of using the money from the alleged Saradha scam to fund the terrorists responsible for the Burdwan blast, the TMC will not any leave unturned.
