TMC-BJP war escalates; TMC seeks support

Date:

The recent war of words between TMC and BJP seems to have escalated as TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee Tuesday pressed the opposition parties to unite against the Narendra Modi led government at the Centre.

“BJP knows Trinamool is playing the main opposition role in Delhi,” Banerjee said.

Both Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha were adjourned in the session before lunch as members of the opposition parties, SP, TMC and the Congress rushed to the Speaker’s den.

The opposition parties had also created uproar in the Parliament over derogatory remarks by MoS Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti at a rally in New Delhi.

“Please grant a visa to the Prime Minister of India to come to the Rajya Sabha,” TMC Spokesperson Derek O’ Brian said while lashing out at the Prime Minister.

TMC MPs Monday protested against BJP in both Houses of Parliament.
