New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday asked its MPs and ministers to declare their assets by Wednesday. The issue was discussed in the BJP Parliamentary Party meet. BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “All MPs were asked to go to every village.”
The diktat comes just weeks before the government celebrates Good Governance Day on December 25, on the occasion of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday. It is not the first time that such a deadline has been issued to BJP parliamentarians. A similar diktat was issued last month also, but the one issued today is being dubbed as final advise.
Senior leader LK Advani said whatever golden period of governance former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had begun, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking it forward.
