Tharoor dares Swamy to name Sunanda’s murderer

Date:

New Delhi: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor hit out at BJP leader Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday asking him to reveal the name of his wife’s murderer.

Swamy on Saturday had alleged Tharoor knew about his wife Sunanda Pushkar’s killer, adding that the Congress leader had been trying to cover up the case by telling lies.

Swamy further went on to say, “Tharoor did not kill her, but Tharoor knows who killed her and facilitated her killing. He told lies and tried to cover up, so he will also be sent to jail, but won’t get capital punishment.”

On being questioned about Swamy’s statement, Tharoor lashed out saying, “Who is Swamy? If he knows the murderer let him tell the police.”

Swamy reacted to Tharoor’s statement saying, “Police must interrogate him, if he lies then he must be arrested.” He further said, “I have proof that Sunanda was murdered. I went to the police and the home minister… I have also said Tharoor did not murder her, nor order the killings but aided the murderer.”

Swamy also alleged that the Congress backed Tharoor as they were worried he would break, adding, “If Tharoor goes down, seven politicians go down.”

Earlier in July 2014, Swamy alleged Sunanda Pushkar was killed in a professional way. “Sunanda Pushkar had said she would expose the IPL deals. Robert Vadra’s name would also have surfaced,” Swamy said.

However, demanding a court-monitored investigation in the Sunanda’s death case, Swamy said he will be filing a PIL very soon.

Swamy has maintained throughout there was a foul play in Sunanda’s death. He said evidence pointed that Pushkar was murdered using Russian poison, adding he had the proof to support his charges.
