Akshay out of ‘Hera Pheri 3’

New Delhi: Akshay Kumar’s demand of INR 50 crore for the third part of ‘Hera Pheri’ was reportedly not met.

Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal agreed to what was being offered but Akshay wanted an “astronomical amount,” according to the report. A source was quoted as saying, “the makers had no option but to find another actor. The film was anyway delayed due to several rounds of conversation with him.”

The film now features Dostana couple John and Abhishek. The two are coming together on screen after seven years. Neeraj Vora who directed the sequel, Phir Hera Pheri, will be directing the third part too.

Interestingly, during a recent media interaction the action superstar had said, “I was never approached for Hera Pheri 3. I have another film lined up after Baby and they wanted to start shooting early so I just could not work the dates out.”

Hera Pheri was originally directed by Priyadarshan, starred Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal and Akshay Kumar and is considered as one of the Bollywood’s best comedies. Its first sequel Phir Hera Pheri, was also a huge hit.
