Washington: Rumours about Apple working on a large 12-inch iPad have been doing the rounds since last year. But, a new KGI report now reveals that the Cupertino Company is working on a new stylus for its iPad products, which is scheduled to be launched in Q2 this year.
The stylus, besides complementing the dubbed iPad Pro, might also work with iPad Air models.
New rumours for the stylus, comes through Ming Chi-Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities who is known for his usually accurate predictions for Apple products. Kuo says Apple might launch the stylus as an optional accessory for the iPad Pro, as a stylus bundled with the tablet would make the package too costly.
The rumoured stylus will supposedly be easier to operate than a mouse and keyboard competition in some cases. However, a Lightening connector might be required for charging the accessory.
The stylus for iPad Pro is said to have a gyroscope accelerometer to enable inputs while drawing on the display panel as well as through writing on any other hard surfaces or even in the air.
Apple might ship 2-2.5 million units of its rumoured stylus worldwide and might target its iPad Pro tablet towards education and businesses, as per Kuo. In addition, the stylus could also bring a slew of new apps for the tablet.
The rumoured iPad Pro is speculated to feature Mac OS X and iOS-integrated OS.Â
