33 years of being Sasha

Veteran actor Pankaj Kapoor must be a very proud man for having a son like Shahid Kapoor, whose talent in often compared to his fathers. Sasha, oftern touted as one of the best actors in Bollywood, celebrates his 33rd birthday on Wednesday.

The actor, who began his acting career 12 years back, has now become one of the most sought after actors of Tinsel Town.

With blockbuster films like ‘Jab We Met’ and ‘Kaminey’,  Shahid has displayed his versatility in almost every role he has done in his career.

His latest outing – ‘Haider’ – directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, redefined Shahid as an actor par excellence.

Here is a list of some of his movies:

1. Ishq Vishk

Shahid made his Bollywood debut with Ishq Vishk and won a Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut for his performance. Ishq Vishk released in 2003.

 

2. Fida

Fida was a Bollywood romantic thriller film, directed by Ken Ghosh. The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor and it was said that they started dating during the making of this film. It was an average hit at the box office. The movie released in 2004.

 

3. Vivah

Vivah was a Indian musical romantic film, written and directed by Sooraj R. Barjatya. The film starred Amrita Rao and Shahid Kapoor and it was produced and distributed by the Rajshri Productions. The movie released in 2006.

 

4. Jab We Met

Jab We Met was a Hindi romantic comedy-drama, directed and written by Imtiaz Ali. The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor. The film got positive reviews. Critics praised the film for its simplicity, its romance, saying that it was “one of the finest romantic films to come out of Bollywood in 2007”.

 

5. Kismat Konnection

Kismat Konnection was a Bollywood film directed by Aziz Mirza. The film starred Vidya Balan and Shahid Kapoor. The movie was released in 2008.

 

6. Kaminey

Kaminey was a thriller film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj and featured Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. In the 57th National Film Awards, Kaminey won two awards. The movie released in 2009.

 

7. Teri Meri Kahani

Teri Meri Kahaani was a Hindi romance drama film directed by Kunal Kohli. The film starred Shahid Kapoor, opposite Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles, paired together for the second time after Kaminey. The movie released in 2012.

 

8. Phata Poster Nikhla Hero

Phata Poster Nikhla Hero was a Bollywood action comedy film directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. The film featured Shahid Kapoor and Ileana D’Cruz in the lead roles. The movie released in 2013.

 

9. R… Rajkumar

R… Rajkumar was a Bollywood action-masala film directed by Prabhu Deva. The film starred Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in lead roles. The movie was a hit in domestic circuit but dull in overseas. The movie released in 2013.

 

10. Haider

Haider was an Indian crime drama film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The film was a modern-day adaptation of William Shakespeare’s tragedy Hamlet. Shahid Kapoor won several awards for this movie including the FilmFare Award for the Best Actor in 2014.
