Indian bookies place their bets on Oz to win

Date:

New Delhi: According to few Delhi-based bookies, Australia is the clear favourite to win the ICC Cricket World Cup and India’s chances of retaining the ICC Cricket World Cup are slim.

India may be the overall favourites but bookies feel that the home team holds a slight edge on Team India in the March 26 clash scheduled in Sydney as the opening rate for the match is a little tilted toward team Australia.

A bookie based in Laxmi Nagar requesting anonymity told NewsMobile, “Fresh rates for the World Cup winner were received on Wednesday morning and Australia is the clear favourite to win.”

Suggesting the rates for the match bookie claimed that India-Australia match has been fixed at 60:65 in favour of Australia.

This means that if a person bets Rs 100 rupee on Australia and if the team goes on to win, he will get Rs 6000 in return. On the other hand, if India wins, he will get Rs 6500 in return.

However, the rate changes as the match progresses, the bookie added further.

Other than the winning team, bets are placed on every ball, phases of the match like how many runs will be scored or wickets will fall in the first ten overs, powerplays, last ten overs etc.

The bookie further added that a bet once placed cannot be cancelled though one can place multiple bets even if it is diametrically opposite the wager which he or she had originally made.

Other than this, bets are also placed on performance by individual players.
