Shahid to get hitched this December

Date:

Mumbai: This may just be ‘the-nightmare-comes-true’ news for girls who swoon over Bollywood heart-throb Shahid Kapoor as he has confirmed he is getting married in December.

Since the day the news of him getting married to Delhi girl Mira Rajput in December broke, the media went into tizzy over confirmation and denials, while Shahid decided to keep mum.

But at an awards show in Mumbai, the Haider actor confirmed he is getting hitched in December this year. He however did not name the lucky girl.

“I’m not engaged yet but marriage is on cards this December. Please co-operate with me, I will let you know about everything soon,” he said.

When asked what was so special about the lovely young lady who had captured his heart, the actor said, “I’ll refrain from getting into details. I hope you respect that. I’m here today and I thought it was important for me to acknowledge it in front of the media. Other than that I’m just a normal guy, she’s just a normal girl and we should treat it like that. I’m very happy.”

Shahid is reportedly set to marry Mira Rajput, 23, an English Honours student at Lady Sriram College, Delhi. Shahid’s roka ceremony reportedly took place on January 14, 2015.

Shahid met Mira through the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas. He and his father Pankaj Kapur are followers of the group.

An alumna of Vasant Valley School, New Delhi, Mira got the 10th rank in Delhi University’s CATE (Common Admission Test in English). She has also interned with the United Nations in the past.

There are also reports of Shahid’s dad Pankaj Kapur visiting Mira’s Chhatarpur house to meet her parents a few days back.

Mira, who remains elusive to the media was reported to be reluctant to get married at such an early age, but seems now that the to-be-groom has confirmed the rumours there’s no room for doubt anymore.
