India fumes as Hafiz Saeed says 26/11 mastermind Lakhvi is innocent

Date:

New Delhi, May 05 (ANI): India on Tuesday dismissed Jamaat-ud-Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed’s clean chit to Lashkar-e-Toiba leader Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks case. Saeed had said India is trying to put pressure on Pakistan through the United Nation and the United States to punish him for the Mumbai attacks. He said, ‘India has no evidence against Lakhvi. Out of desperation it has contacted the United Nations and the US to pressure the Pakistani government to give punishment to Lakhvi. India and the UN have no right to intervene in the judicial system of Pakistan. India had never accepted the decisions of the Pakistani courts in the past.’ Reacting on the same, leaders from different political parties said that there is no relevance of what Saeed says on another fellow terrorist. They opined that a fellow terrorist’s certificate to another does not hold any relevance. Minister of State for PMO Jitendra Singh said that the statement does not have an impact on government of India policies.
