Shakuntala Gamlin appointed chief secretary in charge

New Delhi: Delhi government on Friday appointed Shakuntala Gamlin as their new chief secretary after its current incumbent K K Sharma left for the US on a personal visit.

Sharma is on a 10-day trip and according to the government, a senior most official may take over Sharma’s charge for that period

Shakuntala is an IAS officer of AGMUT Cadre of 1984 batch. Born on March 29, 1961, Shakuntala has done her post-graduation in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi University. 

A very dynamic and result oriented officer Shakuntala has vast experience of working in different positions with various State Governments as well as with the Union Government.

She has served in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Government of NCT of Delhi in various capacities. She has also worked on Central deputation with Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India.
